How do I create and use an order bump?

Getting startedUpdated on 2026-06-26

An order bump is an extra offer shown at the last step of the checkout, right before the customer pays. With one click on “I want it!”, they add that product to the order — it's one of the simplest ways to increase the value of each sale.

How the order bump appears at checkout. The title (today, the plan name) and the description are set when you create the order bump; the struck-through value comes from the plan and the highlighted value is the price with the discount applied.

Creating an order bump has 3 stages: (1) create the product, (2) create a plan for it and (3) create the order bump itself. Let's go step by step.

1. Create the order bump product

First, create a new product — this is what you'll offer as the order bump (the extra item in the sale).

Don't know how to create a product yet? See the step-by-step:

2. Create a plan for that product

Then create a plan for that product with the order bump value. The plan is what turns the product into an offer that can be sold at checkout. Don't know how to create a plan? See: How do I create a plan and start selling?

When a plan is used as an order bump, some of its fields show directly at checkout:

  • Plan name → appears as the order bump title.
  • Plan value → is the order bump's default price (what the customer pays if you don't apply a discount).
Want to show that struck-through price with a discount? Set a slightly higher value on the plan and, when creating the order bump, apply the discount. The full value shows struck through and the lower value is highlighted.

3. Create the order bump

With the plan ready, go to Order bumps and click Create order bump. This is the most important part — fill in each field carefully:

  • Title: the order bump name. Tip: already put here the same name you want to show at checkout — in future updates the title will come from this field (instead of the plan name).
  • Description: the text shown below the title, like in the image above.
  • Discount: if you want to give a discount, choose Fixed (amount in currency) or Percentage (a % off). Don't want a discount? Leave it on Fixed and 0.00.
  • Shipping: defines when the order bump appears. The customer only sees it if they pick one of the shipping options you marked here — if they pick one that isn't marked, the order bump won't show. To show it in any case, select All.
  • Select the plans: these are the checkouts where the order bump will appear. E.g.: if you have Plan 1 and Plan 2 and mark only Plan 1, the order bump shows only on Plan 1's checkout — not on Plan 2.
  • Offer the plans: the most important option — these are the plans you want to sell as the order bump, i.e. what shows as the offer at the last step of the purchase. Select here the plan(s) you created to use as the order bump.
Don't mix up the last two options: Select the plans = WHERE the order bump appears (on which checkouts). Offer the plans = WHAT is sold as the order bump. And never mark, under “Select the plans”, the same plan you are selling as the order bump.

Finally, click Save. Done — your order bump now appears on the checkout of the chosen plans, at the last step before payment.
